Dear students and esteemed colleagues,
Based on current epidemic situation in the Czech Republic, in connection with the extraordinary measures stated by the Ministry of Health and in connection with the Rector’s measure regarding the operation and functioning of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague effective from 24 May 2021 effective starting Monday 24 May 2021 the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague will be operating under following instructions:
All students of BA, MA and PhD programmes are allowed to attend:
a) Contact instruction of arts (hands-on teaching) and practical instruction
b) Pricticing (rehearsals) with no restrictions as to the number of persons in one classroom. This measure is not valid for specializations of Voice and Opera Directing. Singing as an essential part of these two specializations is permitted with a maximum of 6 students in one classroom if other safety measures allow it.
c) Preparation for instruction of arts: Students can only use the classrooms or practice rooms of their department. Students will not be allowed to borrow classroms / practice rooms without reservation through the reservation systhem.
Mandatory testing: Students of all years of BA, MA and PhD programmes are obliged to get tested once every 7 days (antigen testing for SARS-CoV-2), testing for these students will be provided by the faculty. For testing reservation students are obliged to use the reservation systhem of AMU HERE. Testing will take place every Monday and Thursday in HAMU Atelier, the capacity of the testing site has been increased for this purpose. Negative result of this antigen test will be valid for 7 days.
If a student tests at a different test point than the official test point of AMU, they shall produce a certificate of a negative test result not older than 72 hours.
The exemption from the testing duty for everyone entering the AMU campus: applies to those who have suffered from covid-19 during the last 180 days (beginning with the first positive test result; this is to be demonstrated by a solemn declaration – the template is available for download HERE) as well as to those who have been vaccinated (on expiry of 22 days from being administered the first required dose – to be demonstrated by a vaccination certificate).
Teaching of all theoretical subjects: may be in present format or remains in remote (online) format for all years. Teachers may decide which format is used for each of their subjects.
During their entire stay in the faculty buildings, the teachers and students are obliged to maintain all hygienic directives, in particular based on the Rector’s notice effective from 25 February 2021 covering their mouth and nose WITH A RESPIRATOR (this does not apply to wind and brass instrument musicians and singers when performing), regular airing of the classrooms and practice rooms, social distancing of at least 2 metres and regular hand sanitizing.

Concerts and other artistic events will be allowed to take place with audience present. Martinů Hall – maximum capacity 120 members of audience, HAMU Gallery – maximum capacity 50 members of audience.
Every member of audience must be able to prove they are complying with following safety measures:
a) they have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR test in the last 7 days
or
b) they have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 by POC test in the last 72 hours
or
c) they have suffered from covid-19 during the last 180 days (beginning with the first positive test result; this is to be demonstrated by a solemn declaration – the template is available for download HERE)
or
d) they have been vaccinated (on expiry of 22 days from being administered the first required dose – to be demonstrated by a vaccination certificate)
During the concert as well as during the stay at the HAMU campus it is necessary to maintain all hygienic directives, in particular to cover the mouth and nose with a respirator.
On-site administration will be restricted to the most urgent support. Homeoffice is preferred during this week, essetial personnel will be present at HAMU campus for necessary time periods only.
Essential consultations between instructors and administrative staff will be held via phone or email communication only. Essential meetings will be held online.
The Study Department will be accessible during student opening hours on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 1 pm, on Thursday 10 – 12 am and 2 - 4 pm
Operation of the faculty including the administration is governed by the PES HAMU systhem.
