WE SUPPORT THE TRADITION OF CZECH CHAMBER ENSEMBLES!

Chamber Music Performace Section brought a significant improvement to the organization of the chamber music instruction. The scope of action of the Chamber Music Performance Section spreads among multiple departments and interconnects activities of the String Instruments Department, the Keyboard Instruments Department, or the Percussion Instruments Department. Study schedule of the chamber music class is organized so that the students of bachelor and master study programs would become familiar with the masterpieces of Viennese classics, Czech composers, representatives of baroque music and last but not least with contemporary music pieces.

In those cases when ensembles such as bowed string quartets, piano trios, woodwind and brass quintet et al. exceed the boundaries of basic instruction and become specialized, they are provided with every kind of support possible. The simple fact that students of the section frequently win awards and appraisals of the highest degree shows evidence of the quality of instruction they are provided at HAMU.

Doc. Štěpán Koutník (clarinet solo of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and a member of Novák Trio) was appointed as the head of section and the instructor of Woodwind and Brass study subject. Prof. Václav Bernášek (a member of Kocián Quartet) teaches the subject at String Instruments Department, doc. František Malý (a member of Antonín Dvořák Trio) instructs the forementioned subject at Keyboard Instruments Department.
